Defendant in Las Vegas Shooting and Fireball Claim Convicted of Rape, Robbery in Another Case

|

Before even beginning his capital murder trial for the shooting and explosion that caused the deaths of three people on the Las Vegas Strip in February, a self-described pimp has been convicted of rape and robbery charges.

On Friday, September 20, 2013, a jury found Ammar Harris, 27, guilty after less than two hours of deliberation.

According to witnesses, Harris did not show any reaction when the verdict was read in Clark County District Court.

Harris’ sentencing is set for November 20. He could face 10 years to life for these crimes.

According to an article published online by Fox News, the charges grew out of an attack of an 18-year-old woman in a condo off the Las Vegas Strip in June 2010. Harris’ attorneys maintained that the sex at this site was consensual, and Harris did not testify during the trial that lasted one week.
