Mr. Marcek grew up in Las Vegas, NV and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas in 1986. He attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge College of Law graduating in 1989. Mr. Marcek was admitted to the California bar in 1990 where he practiced for four (4) years, primarily practicing insurance defense. Mr. Marcek returned to Nevada in 1994 and passed the Nevada exam that same year. He opened his practice in 1997 and practices primarily personal injury law. In January 2023, he merged his practice with Bertoldo, Carter, Smith and Cullen.

Mr. Marcek has tried more than thirty (35) jury trials to verdict, has tried over fifty (50) bench trials to a decision. In addition, he has argued appeals before the Nevada Supreme Court, the Nevada State Court of Appeals and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Marcek was a Board member of the Nevada Justice Association from 2006-2018, and he was the President in 2014. He was in the Summerlin Rotary Club from 1997-2015, was on the Board for six (6) years and served as its President from 2006-2007. The Rotary Club is a service organization that contributes money to many non-profit and charitable organizations in Southern Nevada. He also works part-time for the William S. Boyd School of Law as the Coordinator of Community Service. He takes 1 to 2 pro bono cases a year. He was recently appointed to the Attorney General’s Commission on Military-Veterans Pro Bono Legal Services.
