Javier A. Arguello
Honesty. Hard work. Responsibility and resilience. These are the qualities Javier Arguello embodies, and he learned all of them growing up.
At age three, Javier was brought to America from Ecuador. His mother’s work ethic affected him deeply, and he refused to settle for less than his own best, earning his B.A. from the University of Southern California. His decision to go into law was driven by his mother, as well, but in a more personal way. She had been the victim of a work accident. She endured pain, suffered indignity, and at the end of a demoralizing process, received an unfair and inadequate settlement.
Javier received his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University. Drawn by workers’ compensation law, he has worked for insurers and employers. He’s represented all areas of the construction industry, municipalities, grocery and department stores, hotels and casinos, transportation companies and health care organizations. He has worked in private practice and as Chief Counsel for the State Industrial Insurance System, where he successfully argued cases before the Nevada Supreme Court.
He learned how insurance companies think. How they act. What makes them tick. And he brought his perspective and experience to BBCS in 2006, where he heads the workers’ compensation department.
Javier is straightforward with his clients, and devoted to them. He is the one his clients meet with, he’s the one at court, he’s there every step of way from beginning to end. “If I can help you, no matter what it’s worth, I’ll take your case. Even if it’s just to get your bills paid.” The advocacy and diligence his mother didn’t have—that’s what Javier gives every day.
